MI6 to send punitive unit of Ukrainian neo-Nazis to Africa

16.08.2023, Moscow.

The UK intelligence service MI-6 trained a punitive unit consisting of Ukrainian neo-Nazis to be sent to Africa, RIA Novosti wrote on August 16, citing an unnamed military-diplomatic source.

According to the source, the squad is tasked with eliminating African leaders to counter the development of their cooperation with Russia. In July 2023, London reportedly instructed the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine to assist MI6 and SAS Special Forces in selecting a suitable contingent from the Ukrainian nationalist battalions with extensive combat experience in the conflict in Ukraine.

“According to information confirmed by several sources, in order to counter the development of cooperation between African countries and Russia, the UK intelligence service MI6 has formed and trained a sabotage and punitive detachment consisting of militants from Ukrainian nationalist and neo-Nazi units to send them to the southern continent,” he said.

The sabotage and punitive group is scheduled to depart from the Ukrainian port of Ismail in the second half of August. The group will be deployed to the Sudanese city of Omdurman.

According to the source, Vitaliy Prashchuk, an officer of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GID), has been appointed commander of the punitive unit. Prashchuk has experience in such activities over the past decade, as well as experience working in Africa on MI6 tasks, including in Zimbabwe.
